Florida authorities have declared a
state of emergency after a terrorist
attack that killed 50 at a gay nightclub in
Orlando,
– About 53 other people sustained injury
and doctors are pleading to the public to
donate blood for their treatment
A terrorist attack on a gay nightclub in
Orlando has resulted in the death of about
50 people, Independent has reported.
About 50 people were killed at the nightclub
while 53 others sustained injury
The report further said about 53 others were
injured in the attack carried out at Pulse
nightclub and described as the deadliest
mass shooting in the history of the United
States.
Florida authorities have declared a state of
emergency, just as Buddy Dyer, Orlando’s
mayor, announced the casualties.
“We are dealing with something we never
imagined.
“Because of the scale I have called Governor
Scott to request a state of emergency and we
are issuing a state of emergency in the city,”
Dryer said.

Boko Haram terrorists
The attacker has been identified as Omar
Mateen, a 29-year-old from Port St. Lucie,
Florida and whose family is from
Afghanistan.
Mateen is believed to have been born in the
United States.
The police said the attacker was fully
prepared for the act as he had an assault
rifle and handgun.
He was shot dead after his attack, the report
stated.

Michael Cheatham, a surgeon with Orlando
Health, was quoted as saying local hospitals
had implemented a mass casualty plan after
the shooting and spent the day operating on
a number of victims.
He also asked people to donate blood to the
victims of the attack.
Terrorism has become a global challenge
with ISIS taking the lead and penetrating
countries. For example, Somalia’s foremost
terrorist organisation stated in the evening of
Friday, June 10 that it had gruesomely
murdered four security agents after they
were found to be spies.
